What's Up @ Plantation UMC?

Register now! 2019 ISRAEL TRIP
February 7th-20th, 2019, we’ll be traveling to Israel under the direction of Pastor Hedy Collver and her good friend Rev. Fawn Mikel, with Canon Iyad Qumri as our Local Guide. As we walk through the land where Jesus was born, grew up, died, and was resurrected, we will not only “visit” these holy sites but we will live them together! The brochure, proposed itinerary, and registration form are available on the shelves in the Sanctuary lobby. For more information, visit plantationumc.org/israel.

The ministry formerly known as PROS (“Plantation Reaching Out to Seniors”) or M&Ms (“Mature Methodists”) will host a fun, creative and interactive event on April 26th! Our goal is to provide opportunities for fellowship, connections, learning and fun for our retired, more senior members and friends. Details will be coming soon! For information on this ministry, contact Sherlain Stevens by email or call the church office at 954-584-7500.

PARKING LOT REPAIR Q&A SESSION | Sunday, April 29, 12:15pm in the Sanctuary
Through your faithfulness, we have almost raised enough funds to begin the long-needed repairs to our parking lot, bringing us ever closer to making “Lake PUMC” disappear! If you have questions about the extent of the repairs, the proposed timeline, what is being done, what it will look like when it’s finished, or anything else, please come to the Question & Answer Session at the end of the month! If you would like to make a donation toward the project, just click here & enter your donation in the "Parking Lot Project" box. You can also drop off your donation at the church office, or place it in the offering plate on Sunday morning. Just mark your check or envelope "Parking Lot Project." If you have any questions about making a donation, contact Julie Bouwens by email. If you have questions about the project, contact Pastor Hedy by email.

Are you grieving the death of a family member or friend?   You are invited to join GriefShare, “Your Journey from Mourning to Joy”.  This 14-week video-based support and discussion group meets every Monday starting February 5 through May 7 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in room 309.  New members may start at any time during the series.  There is a one-time $20 fee for the workbook.  Please call the church office at 954-584-7500 with any questions.

Wednesdays, 6:30pm in room 502
WOW is a multi-generational, multi-cultural group of women who are seeking to know God better through reading books and lively discussion. We will begin our discussion of “What Love Is” by Kelly Minter.  All women are invited to join us as we explore the Letters of 1, 2, and 3 John and hear our own call to love as Jesus loved. Contact Carolyn Curry if you have questions or wish to order a book.

All children — not just church members — who are interested in music, singing, and playing instruments are invited to participate. Children from 3 years old through 6th grade learn the basics of singing and note reading, and learn to play bells and chimes. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons: Resonate! (1st to 6th grade), 4:00-5:00pm in the Sanctuary, and Resonate, Jr. (3 years to Kindergarten), 4:00-4:40pm in the Choir Room.

The Chancel Choir has begun a new season of praising God and making music, and you are invited to join the fun! The Chancel Choir leads worship on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 service, with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00. The choir is open to adults and teenagers. All are welcome – no auditions necessary!

All youth (6th to 12th grade) are invited to participate in a brand-new Youth Choir! The youth will develop their singing voices and learn to sing in 3-part harmony, as they perform in our church, around our community, and maybe even go on tour next year! All youth — guys and girls — are invited and encouraged to participate! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00-6:50pm in the Choir Room.
