Next Sermon Series: SUPERHEROES!
September 2nd - 30th, 2018
This summer we’ve been looking at the powerful, beautiful parables that Jesus told his followers, explaining God’s love through story. This September, as our families return from vacation and kids head back to school, we’ll explore some of the stories that our post-modern culture loves: superheroes! Come to church in your favorite superhero gear for this fun series!

Women’s Study: Making Sense of the Bible
A multi-generational, multi-cultural group of women who are seeking to know God better through reading books and lively discussion. On Wednesday, September 5th at 6:30pm in room 502 we will begin our discussion of “Making Sense of the Bible” by Adam Hamilton.  All women are invited to join us in this DVD and book study as we seek to deepen our understanding of the Bible and its meaning for us today.  Contact Carolyn Curry, cabcurry@comcast.net if you have questions or wish to order a book.

Bible Study: The Twelve Disciples
The Deeper Connections class invites you to join a Bible study focused on Jesus’ closest followers, the Disciples. Learn more about these ordinary men, who were transformed into extraordinary messengers of Christ’s love and reconciliation. Discover how their story can change your own.  Lessons will begin on Sunday, September 9th at 11:00am in room 502.

Next Habitat for Humanity Work Day

Congregational Care
Caring for our family of faith is an important aspect of our community life at Plantation UMC. However, we can only respond to the need or concern if we know it exists! If you, or anyone you know, has need of congregational support, please let us know by calling the church office at 954-584-7500 or sending email to communications@pumc.net. Thank you so much!

Chapel Bells Seek New Ringers
Our Chapel Bell choir is seeking new ringers! Now under the direction of Plantation UMC member Chris Cary, it’s the perfect time to try bells for the first time! No prior bell experience necessary. Can you count to 4? Do you know what quarter notes, eighth notes, and half notes are? Then you could play bells! If you’re interested, contact Pastor Kathy at knolasco@pumc.net.

Pumpkin Patch/Fall Festival
Donations needed:  Fall themed books (leaves, pumpkins, etc.) The pumpkin patch is in need of new or gently used fall themed picture books to be read aloud to visiting school children during field trips in October. Fiction or non-fiction books are both welcome. The target ages are 3 to 7. No Halloween or “scary” themes, please. The books will be kept with other pumpkin patch supplies and re-used in the future. Books can be dropped off in the Church office during business hours.
