What's Up @ Plantation UMC?

Fight Hate + Live Love
We have launched an exciting new initiative: a resource for our community that we will create together as a family of faith! We’re starting out by praying together for the 40 days of Lent (February 14th - March 31st). Our goal is to have every person at Plantation UMC — man, woman, youth, and child — pray for at least 15 minutes each week during Lent. Sign up for a time-slot today at www.fighthatelivelove.org, or call the church office at 954-584-7500! Contact Pastor Hedy for more information.

Confirmation Journey 2018
Are you ready to understand more about the Christian Faith? Are you ready to take the next step in your faith?  Confirmation is a three-month journey of spiritual growth for students in 7th grade, as well as 8th-12th graders who have not yet been confirmed. Questions? Contact Manu Bhatnagar by email or at 954-584-7500.

Now Casting for Children’s Musical
Our Resonate! children’s choirs have begun preparations for their spring musical, and all children are invited to join the cast! A musical is a wonderful opportunity for children to gain confidence, grow in their performance skills, learn teamwork, and make memories to last a lifetime. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons at 4pm in the Sanctuary. The children will perform the musical in worship on Mother’s Day. All children – ages 3 through 6th grade – are welcome. No auditions necessary to be a part of the chorus. Contact Pastor Kathy for more details, by email or at 954-584-7500.

Chapel Bells Seeking New Ringers
Our Chapel Bell choir is seeking new ringers in this new year!  This spring the bell choir will welcome Plnatation UMC member Chris Cary as director, and it’s the perfect time to try bells for the first time!  No prior bell experience necessary. Can you count to 4?  Do you know what quarter notes, eighth notes, and half notes are? Then you could play bells! Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM. Private instruction time available if you need extra practice! If you’re interested, contact Pastor Kathy, by email or at 954-584-7500.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir has begun a new season of praising God and making music, and you are invited to join the fun! The Chancel Choir leads worship on Sunday mornings at the 11:00 service, with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00. The choir is open to adults and teenagers. All are welcome – no auditions necessary! Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, August 23 at 7:30pm in the Choir Room.

Youth Choir
All youth (6th to 12th grade) are invited to participate in a brand-new Youth Choir! The youth will develop their singing voices and learn to sing in 3-part harmony, as they perform in our church, around our community, and maybe even go on tour next year! All youth — guys and girls — are invited and encouraged to participate! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00-6:50pm in the Choir Room, starting August 30th.
