Sunday Mornings Kid's Classes
Age 3 thru 5th Grade
Sunday Morning Kids’ Classes provide a foundation for the children to start their faith journeys. The children learn a Bible point each week based on a story from the Bible. Interactive games, activities, stories, and songs reinforce the Bible point, providing multiple ways for kids to learn and remember the Bible point.
Kids’ Classes occur during the 9:30 and 11:00 Worship Services. The children enter the Sanctuary with parents. Registration and check-in are located in the Sanctuary Lobby. Children stay in worship with their parents for the first part of the service. They are invited to come up front for a “Children’s Moment” with the pastor, after which they are escorted to the Kids’ Classrooms by screened and trained volunteers. Parents pick up their child after worship in the Kids’ Classrooms.
nursery (birth thru age 3)
Nursery is available for infants through 3 year olds at all three Sunday morning services. Our nursery is staffed by two qualified, screened and trained caregivers from 7:30am to 12:30pm every Sunday morning. If parents’ prefer to keep their infant or toddler with them, we do have a “wiggle room” adjacent to the Sanctuary Lobby, where they can see and hear the service while caring for the needs of their restless little one.
Registration for Kids’ Classes & Nursery
We use a registration system called KidCheck to provide maximum safety for our children. To save time when you visit, you can register on KidCheck ahead of time. Go to https://go.kidcheck.com/signin.aspx to create an account. The account is made in the parent’s name. Then add child(ren), plus additional guardians who may check in/out the child (spouse, partner, grandparent, etc.).
Plantation UMC offers children’s choirs for children from our church and our community. The children learn the basics of singing, note-reading, and rhythm by making music! We do drum circles, boomwhackers, and handbells and handchimes. This spring, the children are working on a Spring Musical, a full-scale stage production that will be performed three times in May! Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons.
(1st – 6th Grades) meets from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the Sanctuary.
(age 3 – Kindergarten) meets from 4:00 to 4:40 in the Choir Room.

We are in the process of putting together a string ensemble for children age 6 to 14 who know how to play a stringed instrument, or who are interested in learning. This is a valuable opportunity for kids to learn the viola, violin, or cello! For more information, please contact Dr. Dilek Cary by email.
